About
Benefits & virtues of Aleppo soap
The virtues of Aleppo soap have been recognised for centuries. Its exceptional qualities come from the specific properties of the oils it contains.
Olive oil is known for its moisturising and nourishing virtues, while laurel oil is particularly renowned for its purifying and disinfectant properties.
Composition
Just four raw materials, with no chemical additives:
- Olive oil
- Glycerin
- Water
- Laurel oil, in varying percentages
The amount of laurel (bay laurel) berry oil in a natural soap (most often Aleppo soap) determines its antiseptic, antibacterial and cleansing strength: 12%–20% suits sensitive skin, while 35%, 40% and 55% are formulated for highly sensitive skin and eczema. Every bar is produced entirely by traditional, artisanal methods.
